Good to Know!
Enrollment in the DSU Health & Dental Policy 0091936000 is based on a student's enrollment in the Fall Term at the start of the academic which runs concurrently with the policy year (September 1st - August 31st). Students who are enrolled as full-time in September (taking three full credit hour courses in the Fall Semester) are automatically enrolled in the Health & Dental plan with coverage running from September 1st to August 31st the following year. If students are automatically enrolled, the cost of the Health & Dental Plan will be included in their tuition.
If you are not automatically enrolled in the Health & Dental Plan and you do not see the cost of insurance in your tuition that means:
You were part-time, on co-op, on an out-bound exchange, or distance study during the Fall term and you must opt-in.
Students in the Fall Term who are not automatically enrolled in the Health & Dental plan have the option to enroll themselves in the plan during the Fall enrollment period that runs from mid-August until the day that tuition is due to the university - the charge for the plan will be paid for out of pocket through http://studentvip.ca/dsu
Part-time and Distance study students are only eligible to opt into the Health & Dental plan during the academic term in which their studies begin, each policy year.
Co-op and outbound exchange students have the option to enroll themselves in the Health & Dental plan either during the Fall Term, or once they return from their exchange/co-op during the Winter Term and their studies for the current policy year begin.
Students whose studies begin in the Winter or Summer Term have the option to opt-into the Health & Dental plan during the enrollment period for these terms. Students are only eligible to opt-into the Health & Dental Plan during the academic term in which their studies begin each policy year.
