PLEASE NOTE:

This Opt-Out is ONLY for students enrolled in the SOGS Health & Dental Plan (i.e. graduate students completing a Masters or PhD degree). If you are completing an undergraduate degree and are looking to opt out of the USC Health and Dental Plan, please click here. To confirm what health plan you have been billed for, please review your Western tuition fee bill. If you have any questions, please contact info@studentvip.ca for assistance. 

Your opt-out has been successfully received when you see a pop up that says "SUCCESS!" and receive a confirmation e-mail to your @uwo.ca e-mail address. If you do not see either of these items, your opt-out was likely not received. Please try again or contact us on the Live Chat for assistance with opting out.

Important:

• Please note that you must remain on the plan in order to add Family Coverage. If a student chooses to opt-out of the SOGS Health and Dental Plan, their family members are NOT eligible to opt-in.  

• Please note that submitting claims through the Health and Dental Plan makes your opt-out ineligible. Anyone that has submitted claims through the plan for the 2025-2026 policy year will have their opt-out rejected.

• The deadline to submit your opt-out request is January 31st, 2026

Attention International Students:

Please note that OHIP or any Provincial-Equivalent Primary Private Insurance, is NOT eligible to be used to opt-out of the Student VIP benefits.
