Eligible Dependants:
Spouse/Common-Law: The legal spouse of the Insured Student provided there is no legal separation in effect, or an individual of the same or opposite sex who has been residing with the Insured Student for at least one (1) year and who has been designated as the spouse/common-law partner in the Policyholder’s records. The spouse/common-law partner must be a resident of Canada and have provincial health coverage (or equivalent).
Dependent Child(ren): Any natural child, step-child, or legally adopted child of the Insured Student who is under 21 years of age, unmarried, and receives full support from the Insured Student. This also includes those over 21 but under 25 years of age, unmarried, and who receive full support due to full-time attendance at a recognized educational institution in Canada, or who receive full support due to mental or physical infirmity. The child must be a resident of Canada and have provincial health coverage (or equivalent).
Important: Legal Sex information is required to activate your coverage with the Benefit Provider. Student VIP acknowledges that legal sex may not necessarily match the gender identity of our clients. We are actively working to ensure this information is only used for activating your Benefits and that the gender identity of our clients is respected. In lieu of selecting a Male or Female designation, your coverage will be activated with a designation that may not necessarily reflect your personal gender identity or expression.
