Travel Medical Emergencies

If you experience a medical emergency while travelling, it remains important that you call Allianz Global Assistance before seeking treatment whenever possible. Their agents will provide you with a referral to the nearest medical facility, arrange billing on your behalf whenever possible, and advise you of important information related to the claims process and more.

In a serious medical emergency, you should go to a hospital and have a family member or friend call Allianz on your behalf once you are at the facility.

Seeing A Doctor

If you need to see a doctor, please call us to confirm your coverage. We can also help direct you to the nearest medical facility.

If you do not call in before seeking services, we cannot guarantee coverage.

If you see a doctor, you may be required to pay up front and submit a claim to get reimbursed.

Major Medical Treatment

Before seeking any major medical treatment such as surgery, x-rays, diagnostic imaging or lab tests you must contact the insurer directly for pre-approval.

If pre-approval is not provided, coverage may be reduced.
