Eligibility

The Grad Perks plans have various eligibility requirements, so we’ve helped to break down what plan is best suited for you.

CANADIANS / PROVINCIAL HEALTH CARE HOLDERS

If you are a Canadian or have provincial health care such as OHIP, MSI, BC MSP, etc., you are eligible for the Zone and Link plans.

If you are an international graduate who has graduated and you do NOT have provincial health care, you are not eligible for these plans until you do. Please see ‘International Graduates’ below.

The Link Plan does not require medical evidence to be insured. This is a great option for anyone with pre-existing health conditions who may have a hard time finding private coverage or affordable coverage. Learn more here.

The Zone Plan requires medical evidence to be insured but this can result in more favorable coverage and pricing options if you are a healthy candidate.  Learn more here.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATES

If you are an international graduate staying in Canada, you must have coverage for medical expenses such as going to the doctor, emergency visits to the hospital, x-rays and more.

Most provinces have a waiting period before you can get Canadian Government Health Insurance, so it is important to have insurance during this time.

The International Alumni Plan provides coverage for emergency medical care including doctor and hospital visits, emergency surgery, x-rays, blood work, ambulance and more.

You are eligible for this plan provided you are either working in a field of your studies or trying to find employment in your field.
