Indigenous healing practices are the centre of health for Indigenous People and are often overlooked by the health care system. Along with preference, there is evidence number of studies that suggest incorporating traditional healing and wellness into health services for Indigenous People will improve health and wellness.

While supports are traditionally offered through communities, bands and on reserves, it is important we take the time to highlight services for ease of access for our Indigenous students.

Healing practices may include sweat lodges, smudging, community healing, spiritual work, connecting with the earth. Practices may incorporate plants, minerals and earth components as well as physical supports.
